Trouble ejecting my CD changer cartridge

My new car has an older Clarion Pro Audio HU with the 6 disk changer in the trunk. My HU has been reading an E2 error, and all I could find was that it said the cartridge was having trouble ejecting. Didnt give any answer as to why.

Does anybody have a thought as to how I can manually eject the cartridge? i think a cd is stuck in there and cocked slightly that wont allow it to eject. the cartridge is a CAA 355 if that helps.

Dont most of these things have a manual release thing anyways?

I have not worked with that particular unit, but from past experience it is a pita. I had to remove the cover and finesse the disc back into the cartridge. usually, this killed that cd. on some, you can get to the gear that moves the disc puller thing up and down. sometimes you can just turn it and it will line back up. sometimes it strips the gear. just make sure if you you start moving gears, that all sides move equally or else you will have a very difficult time getting it straight again. I stopped using changers after this happeded on 3 units of mine. good luck!

You can save them, but risk killing your changer. those things mess up too much anyways

before you do ANYTHING, pull your deck out and check the fuses...Clarion uses a seperate fuse to power the bus for the changer. Should be 2 yellow wires, check both for power.

              FIXED IT.

pulled some trim stuff off the changer, sure enough a cd was in crooked. first and last time i let somebody else load my changer. used a screwdriver to CAREFULLY reposition the CD, and everything is golden now.

When i was younger, and more anal about my CD's i ussed to burn a copy of the CD right when I bought it new. that way if something like this happened it wouldnt bother me.
