Use the color guide in the stickied thread, should make it easy for you.

Oh yeah, that third bundle, the one on the left..well, that ain't radio stuff, you ripped wires and lights out of the heater controls.

Lemme know if you get stuck, this one is super easy.

You said the cables that are coming from the fader are the ones I need to rewire, those ARE the cables bundle on the left, but then you said the cables on the left ate not radio cables. Wait what? I m so lost.

I also have TWO cables that are yellow/red combination. Which one is which?

Plug thr Oem plugs back into the Oem head unit. Write down all the colors you have. From there we can figure it out.

Ok so here are some pics. I apologize in advance for posting so many pics, but i really hope someone can help me.

Because i yank everything apart by random and didnt label anything (stupid on my part), i m going on a hunch on how these actually plugged into the old oem head unit. I went by the PHYSICAL connection, and they seem to fit perfectly, so i ASSUME these are how they were connected.

As you can see, there is...

-blue & blue/brown cable connected to plug labeled "LEFT"
-yellow & yellow/brown cable connected to plug labeled "RIGHT"
-brown & grey/purple +12V cable connected to plug labeled "GND IGN"
-tiny white cable connected to plug "PWR ANY"

The fader is the BLACK plug on the far left side next to the hazard light one? I took a pic on what cables are connected there. Someone mentioned i have to rewire these, does it mean i need to cut the wire loose from the fader and rewire them to my Pioneer adapter plug?

I took a few more pics of what cables are currently connected to the fader, and there are, as you can see in the pics...

                -blue & blue/red cable
                -blue & blue/black cable
                -yellow & yellow/red cable
                -yellow & yellow/black cable
(and this is what's throwing me off, i dont NOT see any ORANGE cable as shown in the diagram)

As you can see, i have my Pioneer adapter plug rewire with the blue connectors ready to be 'connected', but i am just unsure what to reconnect where.

Please help, i feel so stupid about this...

Off the topic: as someone pointed out, the other bundle cable i have on the far right hand side, i posted a pic of them too, those cables are unrelated to my purpose right now, correct?

Quick question what year is your car? Is it 88 or newer? Does the back of your head unit look like this? Because this DIY posted is only for 88 or newer with premium sound. if you headunit is different, then the DIY in the link does not apply to you. looks like you now have the L/R speaker color scheme. just simply hook the speaker wires to your new harness.

yea i saw that. it appears that you dont have premium sound. so, with your new head unit. does it have front and back fader control? if yes, just wire accordingly.

                        :D

Best way is to use a small battery, AA. Then short a pair of wires one at a time. The speaker will make a small popping sound. From there you'll figure out which one is which. Just tap the wire only for a sec. Holding the battery too long may damage the speaker.

                              Download the ETK from here:

Page 102 should be correct. Cut the wires going into the fader (from the speakers) and wire them to your new stereo.
