Excellent deal on CD43, please advice on wiring for e30

I just got a fantastic deal on a BMW CD43. I need help located the wire adapters I need to connect this to my e30.

Is this the correct antenna adapter (Metra 40-vw20) to connect the oem BMW e30 antenna plug to the CD43?: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...a-40-VW20.html

What wiring adapter do I need to purchase?

Lastly, I read a lot about bypassing the oem premium sound amp with aftermarket radios. Does the oem premium sound amp need to be bypassed with the CD43? If it does not NEED to be is it then better to bypass it or no?

Wow, the seller had no support at all? Kinda lame, isn't it?

    40VW20 and 71-8590.

Wow, the genius of all geniuses in the audio game for the e30 responded....Thank you sir

Now the 71-8590 will still work even though I currently have an aftermarket radio in the car? I guess you snip off the aftermarket wiring and then the oem wiring nubs will still be available to connect the 71-8590 adapter wiring to the e30 stock wiring nubs?

The seller was actually great in answering all my questions and I asked a lot since as we know their is issues with some cd43s (hopefully he was being honest).

He did not have any support on wiring because he had it originally in his 2000 BMW z3, he did not add it later on like us e30 guys.

I got a pretty good price because he listed it as BMW Business Radio and DID NOT add the special CD43 to his title.

May I ask about the stock premium amp with the CD43? Is it better to bypass the stock amp or not?

I think it would be best to use it, are you certain the stock amp is still there?

Yes it is still in the trunk.....the very talented "RagtopE30" aka Matt installed my after market radio.

He did bypass the oem amp for the aftermarket radio, but, I just texted him and he said he cut the wires in a way that it would be easy to go back to factory for the amp.

Hmmmm. Way not worthy of any kind of  but thank you!

OK, so lets look at your car real quick: out of the dash is a male Motorola plug on the antenna cable, so obviously we need a female Motorola.

the Euro connector is so "metro" that it is hard to tell male from female, but IMO, the thing on the back of the deck is male...so obviously, you need the other end.

Fortunately, all you need to do to decide which you need is look for the female Motorola, as it will only come with the correct end to plug on your deck.

So, instead of my saying "get this one", I have now explained what you need to look for, which took WAY longer than just telling you, right?

The point of my spending that time is to pass the knowledge on, be it a direct question or another lurker looking to get this muck figured out.

                Luke,

That was great and detailed :) but, I guess I am not all their mentally lol

The cable coming out of my dash is a gray cable with a silver male point that if you would plug it into a oem e30 radio, the plug would plug inside the female with the silver sleeve going in as well

You can see above in the photo, that one gray cable going deep inside the radio on the right side. That is my antenna cable in my e30.

What is the connection on the back of the CD43 to connect the antenna?

I already placed my order with the local BMW dealership and it was a special order, so it would not be the easiest to return. I just want to make sure I purchased the correct one please.

Which one is the correct one for my application? Number 7 or number 8?

                Thank you kindly,

                Nicolas
