Pioneer DEH-5 does anyone have one?

Hey guys i was looking into buying one of these decks, the button colour almost matches up perfectly with our dashes. I was just wondering if anyone has any experince with these decks? Or pioneer at all?
The one thing i do not like about it is the fact that it's a fixed faceplate. But i can live with that.

    btw thats canadian funds.

    heres the link to it

and here is a bigger picture.

    any comments would help.

Edit: some models are removable faceplates (DEH-1530) and some are not (DEH-5)

Like Alpine, Pioneer made Premium sound system head units for BMW.

    If that tells you anything.

I dunno man, I think you'd really regret buying such a low-end deck in the future. Adding anything else (components, subs, etc.) would be useless with that running the show. If you just want a basic, CD-playing unit, buy a used one from E-bay. If you're gonna shell out the cash for a new one, get something a bit more flexible.

I'm speaking from experience, BTW. I bought a JVC MP3 deck, but one of the low models, without any intention of upgrading anything else. Well, 8 months later I bought an amp and sub for the trunk, and now months after that I'm seriously considering new components for the interior. But before I do that, I really should get a new deck. I'm in a position to lose a lot of money, a position that I could have easily avoided.

      Just my $.02

Im pimpin a JVC Cassette player headunit and a 12 Cd stack in the trunk.

Cassette Tape player doesnt work so boo hoo what a big loss, CD player is no longer in the trunk and now is resting in the glovie so of course i had to reroute the wire and i did this because the hangers or whatever broke and i honestly dont mind having it in the glovebox.

Im replacing this in later years and i personally will be spending my money on nothing but the best, my head unit is only 2 years old if not less but i just dont like how it sticks out and i would like to get something with out/in puts so i can hook up an amp and sub.

I would say walk away and find something better. ;)
