installed my component speakers. Quick question about crossovers

I am proud of myself that I installed my new speakers. The car has been rewired and everything is sounding good. One question I have because I have never done this before is do the crossovers heat up or ever spark EVER? I have one of them inside the panel underneath the steering column and it's sort of nested in the insulation. So far the crossovers have no heated up, but I was wondering if that could be a fire hazard in it's location. If so, where is a better place to put it? They are covered all around and the wire connections are not exposed to the insulation.

One other question is that do I need to ground anything from the tweeters? It's plugged directly into the crossover and I am new at this so I don't know if they need to be grounded somewhere or somehow. The originally wiring was screwed up from the tweeters so I am not sure what to do on this part.

    Thanks in advance!

The tweeter doesn't need to be grounded, from my experience with my infinity components.

I had mine nestled by the steering column and i have not had any problem with sparks or overheating in 3 years (ever since i've had it)

So i'd say go with it.

No, they won't spark or get super hot or anything unless you have them hooked up incorrectly.

AFAIK, tweeters that are connected to a crossover do not need grounding. And no the crossovers don't ever get more than mildly warm, if anything.
