I have been trying to get my audio install finished for a little while now. Working full time, 3 kids, and getting older/lazier, I managed to free up some time today.
I built the door pods with mdf, and fiberglass(resin and chop). I deadened the outer door skins and sealed off behind the panel to use the doors as the enclosure for the huge 6.5"s from massive, really brings the mid bass to another level. The front tweets are hot glued in the factory housings, and I mounted the front x-overs in the kicks. For the rear(I like low level rear fill) I just cut up some mdf and wrapped it with fabric to mount the rear components in the deck. Normally I would have built my own sub box, but as I said I'm getting lazy, I decided to order one from Luke. It was a win win, I didn't have to do anything, and I helped support a fellow enthusiast. The box is really a work of art, fit and finish is top notch, plus it really lets that alpine boom.
I still have to make the trim panel for the trunk, so I didn't take any pics of that. Over all I'm definately satisfied with the sound, plays loud, tight, and clean no matter the genre.
