many many years ago in a car stereo magazine, this has to be circa 1993 when I was into that kind of thing, I saw people would cut holes in the face of their steering wheel, crack the headunit remote open, and put it under the leather with the buttons pushed up through the above mentioned holes. Make sense? Unless you're a pro you'll likely f it up though, I know I would.

^^you might be able to splice a wire to the volume buttons on the HU and put buttons on your wheel.

I have a Blaupunkt stereo with a remote that mounts on the steering wheel, it's called the thummer. It's ok but I'm not too crazy about the Blaupunkt deck itself.

Someone on the forums was going to nix their CC and turn the stock into a remote. Like up down is change song and forward and back it increase and decrease volume. Sweet idea if i do say so.
