GF wants a good sound system

Okay so my girlfriend will be getting a Vert E30 and she wants to have a "bad ass HD sound system" in her E30. I don't know jack shit about stereo equipment. So im asking on here i need to know what i should be looking at in terms of a, Stereo, AMP, sub woofer, and speakers. With her, her stereo is more important to her. So what do you all suggest and please keep in mind i dont want the sub woofer to take up the whole damn trunk. Oh and her budget for the stereo system is $2,000.00

Look for a Luke Box on the forums for your sub. Custom made and now has a vert design if I am not mistaken. Get a decent 5ch amp to run it all. Replace the factor's with medium grade stuffs. The head unit is going to be the most picky. Lay out your 'needs' and go shopping.

Great 5 channel amp
75w x 4 @ 4 ohm and 300w x 1 @ 2 ohm for the sub
Around $400 on eBay

Make sure you have good tweeters it's not something most people bother to have because most new speakers have then built in but in the vert with the top down its really hard to hear the speakers near your feet and the rears over power them , so just keep that in mind

This is the truth. Luke could not be more helpful when it comes to audio. I am at about $700 all in on my system, and thanks to Luke's guidance it sounds amazing.

Buy a Luke box for bass, and don't waste money on a single thing until you consult g.a.s.

OK, for the GFs 'vert, believe it or not we use 2 8" woofers to make bass in the 'vert. Our vert box fits woofers such as the SKAR VVX8 or DD's huge 3508, big crazy woofers that need 1200 watts to come alive.

You don't have to go that far, Type R 8's or P2s are plenty burly and do just fine.

Our goal is nice clean bass on the freeway at 70MPH with the top down. That goal can be met with a pair of $50 woofers and 300 watts. Yes, seriously. The same car with the classic "pair of 12's in the trunk" you can't hear over 25MPH.

We do this because we actually turn part of the car (empty chamber behind seat) into a tuned part of the subwoofer. It is not an easy install at all, not like our normal boxes that for the most part just slide in the space BMW left us to work with...oh no, not the 'vert, that would be too easy!

Anyway, there is one overriding question I need answered should you decide to use our product: Power Top or Manual? We make 2 different boxes, obviously the power top box is quite a bit more money:



Just so you know, we do not stock our 'vert boxes, they are custom built in batches and only built "pre-sold", so the wait time can be as much as a few weeks.

Please note, we now only produce the "Big Boy" versions of our 'vert boxes, they are much harder to build and upholster, thus they are more expensive.
