Hey guys, I'm trying to build a decent system in the family-mobile. I have a 5 year old and another baby coming in a few weeks, so I refuse to put a box behind the rear seat because I want to keep the fold down option. So my only option is to build a box by the rear taillight. It will be my first attempt at building a fiberglass box, but I think I can do it. :-D
ANYWAY, I still have Luke's e30 box, made to fit in my other project car. And with a DVC Obcon 10 and Planet Audio 1800.5 amp, it's fucking awesome. Long story short, when I ordered the Obcon, they fucked up, and I ended up with 2 subs. But Luke says the Obcon will sound like shit in a sealed box, so I'm looking for opinions on a good 10" sub, around $100 or less. And I'm not 100% set on the Planet Audio amp, it's just what Luke recommended a loooong time ago, and it works awesome, so I figured what the hell, I'll get another one. But if there's a better 5 channel amp (yes, I need a 5 channel), lemme know.
I'm more looking for clarity with a little extra punch, not all out rattle-shit-off-the-shelves bass. Luke was saying to go with the new Infinity 8", but I just feel like a 10" is the smallest I should go (but wtf do I know? lol). Also, I can't find a friggin 8" sub ring. Like seriously. At all.
Due to the trunk hinge, I can't make the box as big as I'd like, but I'm still basically going to make it as big as I can. I'm shooting for between .75 and 1 cu ft. If I end up being bigger than needed, I'll just pack some polyfill in to take up the space.
