    Is My Amp Fried?

    Long story short, my amp has been sitting in the trunk of my touring, unmounted and in direct sunlight for a few weeks now. A mixture of laziness and not enough time to make an amp rack has prevented me from tucking it away somewhere.

    Anyway, its a 5 channel that only had the fronts and sub hooked up at the time. I removed the sub box one morning to fit luggage and as i drove the front speakers made a noise (kinda hard to describe the sound) and then just completely cut out.

    What I've checked so far:

    * Any and all fuses related to the radio/headunit
    * Wire connections at the headunit
    * Wire connections at the amp
    * Speaker wire connections
    * Amp fuses
    * Hooked up another amp and all speakers worked fine
    * Tried a different RCA cable
    * Rewired the amp and moved the ground closer

    I'm still left with no sound and its driving me crazy! What else can I check at this point? Is it likely that the sun damaged the amp and fried some internal components?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    The sun should not have hurt the amp, but running it without load certainly could have.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
