    Flame away....alarm question.

Ok. So every time I see someone walk away from a newer BMW (e39, e38, etc), when they lock their doors, it makes this awesome beeEEEeeoooo sound. I want that.

What makes it do that? Is it the siren? Is it something else?

If you've EVER been to a mall, or any form of parking lot, you've heard it.

It's KIND OF like the old star trek sound, when they page someone.

      That's a terrible description.

Most of the cheap ass 6 or 7 tone sirens can be modified...see if one of the sounds is to your liking, then make it the primary sound (lose the others). You should be pretty close.

6 or 7 tone sirens?? Dunno what you mean.. ;)

Sounds like this might work. I just wasn't sure if there was a siren put in these cars that made that noise, that I could use...

I can't answer that, I would ask the stealer myself.

You have had to have heard the 6 or 7 tone sirens that come with alarms...they are the most common there is!

Whats the BEST siren they make for alarms and what all can be done with them... I have a nominal clifford alarm (that does the job) but I would like for it to sound better...

                man oh man...define "better"?

I like to have the factory horn beep along with the siren...makes a distinctive sound.

Thats what mine does right now... also chirps my horn and siren when I lock (one beep) and unlock (two beeps) my car... if my siren was louder and/or had a really kewl sound to it I wouldn't bother with the car horn... atleast during the lock/unlock part...
