that stupid low beam high beam problem.

I'm sure several of you know what I'm talking about just by the title, but for you that don't: my low beam setting for the right side headlight has stopped working when set on lowbeam, but works when on high. all fuses have been replaced and the K3 relay has also been replaced AND I've already checked with another lightbulb. so what else can it be?

    I'm assuming on sealed beams?
I had this issue on my 90 i, but since I put Hella smilies as an upgrade, I never diagnosed the issue.

It has to be the actual light bracket or plug, nothing I did fixed it except for changing to a completely new headlight (the smilies), so my best guess is its something to do with the actual sealed beams: check or corrosion on the affected light and go from there

it's starting to look more and more like it might be the actual plug the connects into the light. any ideas where I can get another one?

They're common as most e30s had sealed beams; only 88-89 had the US spec elipsoids.

It most likely has something to do with the bucket or plug; it's really the only odd variables as I replaced both of those when I switched over to Smilies

learned how to check the pug properly, it's not the plug.
