    Intermittent Subwoofer

    Hey,

Was on a trip the other day and the subwoofer started cutting in-and-out, initially changing the 'gain' through the adjustment knob brought it back, then it stopped completely. I later did a 14 hour roadtrip and it came on a few times throughout the trip, but not lasting the entire song.

I've checked the power, ground, and speaker cables, and all are OK. I yanked the headunit and all of the connections were still good. Amp turns on and isn't in protection mode. Did the subwoofer give up the ghost? It's been working for around 14~ months without a problem.

Did you check the speaker wires at the subwoofer? Put an ohm meter across the terminals on the sub and see what reading you get.

Hadn't gotten to that yet, popped the woofer out of the box and one of the wires from the woofer-to-terminal was broken. Please disregard thread.
