    Power antenna parasitic draw-internal relay?

So I came back from VIR yesterday to find my battery dead on my '87 325i. I traced it to fuse 28 today, then to the power antenna in particular. I've read that the antenna sticking can cause the circuit to stay open, so I lubed up the stalk and ran it in and out a bunch of times. It sticks a tiny bit on the way up, but overcomes it itself without much effort. The antenna retracts completely into the car. I don't see any leaks from the rubber gasket, but they're possible.

Is there some kind of antenna relay that might be stuck? Could something be internally wrong with the antenna that keeps the circuit open even when the stalk is completely retracted?

    Thanks in advance!

Side note: I just rechecked the draw on the test light and it looks like after lubricating everything, there's less of a draw. Dunno if that helps but I thought I'd share.

      Lube it more?

Your antenna may not be 100% down so the relay that runs the motor may be switched...dont know for sure

I'm giving it one shot a day to try to loosen it up the rest of the way. Is there a way to test it with a multimeter to see if the circuit stays open when the antenna drops?

So I thought I would update this after having a few days to fix some things on the car.

First off, when I made this thread the parasitic draw was originating from fuse 28, power antenna and cigarette lighter. I checked for the draw when I started work and ti was still there, so I was sure I would have to disconnect the antenna. After repeating the "pull fuses one at a time" process, it was now fuse 27! This is also known as the "everything on the car that uses electricity" fuse. I traced it to the pin switch in the glove box not being fully depressed and after adding a spacer the draw disappeared!

Turns out that somehow the fuse 28 draw moved to fuse 27 and is now fixed! Just another instance of my car doing the work for me :D
