Seat Heater

Hello there,
I installed some aftermarket seat heater into my seats, but i am stuck with the wiring. Is there anywhere i can tap into (switched power) for electricity. The specs say that it uses 6 amps and 86 watts per heater, there are two, one for each front seat. Any help is appreciated!

OP, you may wanna dig around under your carpet. I have seen a couple of late model cars be "pre-wired" for seat power, you may find an unused plug with that white/brown, but if not, do as posted above.

Now one last question, how would I plug in a wire into the c302 connector? Should i solder the wire and turn it into a "rod" and insert it or are there any crimp on pieces that would do the job?

I just did the same thing
My car didn't have a wire or pin tin he above location so I
Ran a 12 gauge wire through the grommet above the pedals
To fuse 16 with a 15 amp fuse
Hooked up the aftermarket pads to the OEM heated seat switches
And it looks stock
I also removed both seats and ran the wires underneath the carpet so it's like the OEM install

The heated seat pads cost me $40 shipped from eBay
And they heat better than the OEM heated seats on my wife's x3 or my former e92 m3 :)

Personally, if I did not have the plugs under the carpet, I would make my own fused power point.

Since fuse 16 on my car was unused, I figured why not stay stock :)
I was also very lucky that the recaros on my car, you remove 2 screws from the front and the cloth can be lifted up from the foam, so it was an easy install.

Kmarei do you have pictures of how you did the fuse. My mind isn't processing this for some reason.

But once you pass the wire from inside the car through that grommet
It comes out right underneath the brake booster
If you look at the fuse box
There are 4 screws that hold the top half with the lower half
One is underneath one of the relays
Undo all 4
Lift up the upper half of the fuse box
And underneath all the fuses is a wire with a clip on it
Just hooked up my wire to that, for fuse 16
Obviously you want the wire that doesn't read 12v with the ignition on
Otherwise your heated seats will drain the battery

Once you insert the fuse, you are connecting this wire with 12v through the fuse
So if anything happens the fuse pops

No
Just wrapped the wire around the metal clip under the fuse, and soldered it
Looks totally stock from the top, which was the idea :)

I just finished the job, I personally used fuse 16 like mentioned above. What I did was use a wire tap from the inside of the fuse box, from there I put it through the firewall and ran it to my center console. Thanks for the help guys!

FYI, wire taps are CRAP. They don't provide a secure connection and can come loose over time. I suggest re-doing it with a butt connector. 1 wire in one side and two in the other.
