    Tach not working

So the other day I was replacing a blown bulb on the heater control panel, disassembled the panel and replaced the bulb, then put everything back together and now the tachometer does not work. It worked perfectly fine before I changed the bulb. I have searched the forum and the internet and havent come up with a reason, only that with age that the electrical system has its faults. This is really stumping me, and do not know where to look.

The PO had put in an aftermarket radio, and it is a rats nest behind the heater panel, and I also noticed a white wire that was not connected to anything, and had been cut. Dont know if this is the problem, just trying to paint a picture for anyone out there that may help. I have also checked the fuses, and all are good, to include #10. I know there is a signal going to the tach, because when I turn the car off after driving, the needle jumps a little, as it did before when i would shut the car off. Is there a ground cable I could have disrupted? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

could it be the SI batteries, though I dont see how replacing the bulb would have made the SI batteries die.

Did your fuel economy gauge also stop working? If so, then it sounds like something wrong on the SI board, most likely the batteries.

well, i replaced fuse 10 with a brand new fuse, to see if that was the issue. And still didnt work. So I had this crazy idea to try it with one of the old ones. Now it works, as well as the economy gauge, which hasnt been working for some time now. So thank you for all the views and advice guys.
