    what size box for best performance?

    i got 2 MTV thunder 4000 subs 10" whats the best size to build an enclosure so i get the best sound.
    1991 318is --- currently not road worthy
    1991 318i ---- 308K - retired

    I cant be much help, but from what i have read on here the size of the box is in direct relation to a specific rating of the sub. Which rating it is however i couldnt tell you.

    First place i would start would be to figure out which model i had.

      When I am looking for the best possible performance from a specific driver, I call the manufacturer's tech department.

        I just purchased Apline Type R's and it says in a pamplet in the box they came in how the box should be set up. Might be true for yours too but I don't know

          Yeah, just remember that the instruction booklet was written by the marketing department, not the engineers. Small boxes sell better...they really do not care about performance, just sales.
