e do you guys put ur crossovers for your front comps?

just wondering where everyone puts their crossovers for their components up front, i was thinking maybe under the seat, or just run it all the way back tot he trunk for easy access, but i dunno about the power loss cause its such a long distance. what seems to work best for you?

also is it ok to run RCA wire next to speaker wire, i know ur not supposed to run your power wire with the RCA's but can u run it next to speaker wire?

Passive crossovers, or the ones that come packaged with your components, do nothing but filter the signal passively to the separate speakers. There are no electronics, so you can pretty much put them where you please, although it's not really in your best interest to get the printed circuit boards inside them wet...

Distance from the amp will make no audible difference, so just mount them wherever once you get the wiring all sorted.

Speaker wire is OK next to RCAs. As long as your RCAs are shielded, you won't have much problem with noise anyway. It's a good rule of thumb to try to maximize the distance from the power wires, though, as shields can only do so much...sorta like Star Trek shields :)

It's too bad balanced input sections are so expensive, they're really nice and make things so much easier :)

yeah the power wire is coming from the trunk, my 91 bimmer has the battery back there which makes it pretty simple for that aspect.

Just be aware that along the passenger side rocker panel you have a 1/0 gauge power wire that goes up to the engine compartment.

oh i havent gotten far enough on my install to notice that yet, so i guess ill just run the speakers for the front passenger side on that side, and the RCAs and other wires on the driver side, thanks for that.
