Factory alarm remote...

My e30 is fitted with the factory alarm but the PO did not have any remotes.
Is this the one I need:

Can I buy a used one and program it or do I need to go through the dealer?

That is a dealer installed Alpine alarm. Call 1-800-ALPINE-1 (errr...maybe US only?) and ask for suggestions.

Alpine quit making alarms about 2001, IIRC. Not gonna be an easy find, new.

If I were you I would just do the aftermarket thing. Cheaper, easier, better.

The no-name remote looks like it just does lock unlock???
