    Headlights swaping???

Have a 1990 e34 with projectors and a HID kit and want to put them on my 87 e30, but the e30 had bulb in units so how do I install the HID wiring harness so that the switch in the car turns on the lights?
For some reason I am confused on how I would wire in the e34 bulbs when the e30 has 1 unit I can get the lows alright but the high beam ends I am not sure; therefore, if anyone has a link to a wright-up on this or could give me some info on how to make the conversion I would appreciate it.
It would be so nice to just deal in changing bulbs rather than one whole unit anyhow, and the ellipsoids look way better....
    Thanks

There are a couple small issues here. First, the e34 headlights are wider than E30 ones, so they won't be a direct swap. Also, you can't but the projector headlights into the sealed beam holders because the design is different between the two. If you want to buy an E30 setup and install it, it's not a hugely complicated process. I've never done it myself, but I've heard that one basically replaces the old bulb with the new bulb and ballast. Just do some research about the best bulbs/brands/etc. before purchasing.

You will need to change your wiring a little, however, since it sounds like you have sealed beam headlights. A simple search will lead you to a DIY on that.

Damn well that sucks, but thankfully I didn't start changing wiring around!
Thanks, you really saved me. I guess I will start rounding up the right parts to do the swap.
