To those running the E30v2 Lukebox, what 8" subs and Amp are you using?

    as the title states.

I'm having a difficult time deciding.

I've read everything on the site that has to offer, and I still can't really make a decision.

I'm not looking to cheap out, yet I'm not looking to spend a fortune.

I'll be running a pair of Hertz DSK 165.3's up front

I want to do this right the 1st time, and not have to replace stuff soon down the road.

What are you running and do you like it?

my music styles vary from hiphop (tribe, beastieboys, Del, pharcyde) to downtempo chill out house (DJ mark farina, Gramatik, Wax Tailor)

I'd like to get this stuff ordered asap so i'm itching to get this show on the road.

    cheers!

        Thx.
I ended up getting a pair if fosgate punch 2's.

        Amp used
        Mb quart onyx 1100.5

Couple if nice 5.25 up front with tweeters/crossovers

Some older pioneer fillers in the back.

A whoooooooole lot of wire and rca's

I opted to actually pay a buddy of mine to do the install.

He's top 10 installer in Canada. Can't wait to see the results.

I'd attack it myself, but I can't manage the time anymore, plus this install is gonna kick some serious ass.

If your boy wants to call me I would be happy to talk him through the process.

Make sure he reads the tutorial before he starts!

          Luke

I sent him a link to the install page.

He started yesterday and he's following the install process. Did a couple of little "cleaner things" so to speak...but I'm excited about getting to the final result.

Thanks again for your continued support Luke!

                install COMPLETED.

                HOLLLLLLLLLLLLY CRAP.

I am beyond happy with this install.

I went a little "overboard" with the smaller components ie: using Hertz 5.25's up front with crossover tweets.

chose generic mid-range Fosgate P2 subs and a low end MB Quart onyx 1100.5 amp ($200ish)

I went with an Audison bit-Ten D digital processor as well which better controls the sounds coming in either digitally or via analoque feed. This way you can have absolute complete control over sound, how it's delivered etc.
                ---> http://www.audison.eu/index.php?page=product&id=41

I *HIGHLY* recommend the Audison Bit Ten D to anyone running a nice system in ANY car.

your subs aren't just "subs" anymore, they become something you have complete control over.

the Lukebox install was laborious as is clearly outlined.
We did some mild modifications to the box with the advice and recommendation via the Rockford Fosgate engineer team, and I say with complete confidence that my two 8" woofers can, and WILL easily demolish ALOT of systems running MUCH bigger subs/amp.

the bass is as clean as I want it to be, or as filthy and raw as I want it to be (with the bit-10 d controller)

absolutely over the moon with this :-)

nb: I did spend MUCH more than $500 for this setup in equipment alone...this is just to say that the Luke box will sound awesome with a cheaper lower end component setup...but if you want to get serious and throw in some advanced gear in your E30..prepare to be more than impressed:-D

Do you have any pictures that you could share of the install?

Nothing that really any different than what Luke posted on his directions. I have a couple oc so the final product which basically looks like all the other install really
