    Ahhh Soo Confused. Getting no power to windows and sunroof

    Ahhhhh..

    So cleaning up all the issues with my v8 project and i have everything elc. on my car working except the damn window switches and sunroof.
    So looking into the power supplied. I'm getting no lights or power to the switches. The PO says it all worked fine and has had no issues before the car came to me.
    I jumped the circuit braker and still got nothing. I'm not the best with this elc. stuff. I just need a direction to look.
    It's bugging the shit out of me. cause everything else works and this is the last thing i need to finish before I tackle the v8 harness and Ms mapping...
    I'm soo close i can taste it and I'm lost...ugh

    Power at the fuse? Number 17 iirc.

        check the fuse and relay. if that doesn't solve anything check out the wiring diagrams on e30 wiki. i would make sure you have power at the accessory plug, then you know whether your issue is in the fuse box or inside the car

          My first suspect would the the unloader relays. In the stock configuration the unloader switch in the starter provides the ground for the relay coils when the starter isn't operating. Since your V8 starter almost certainly doesn't have an unloader switch, just provide that ground.
          The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

            Oh.. ok so if that's the deal do I just run a ground wire (-) from the switch harness (-) to the body?

                OK.. so I got the windows to work awhile back as well as got the v8 project running, So i'm on to finalizing the last of the issues. Problem I'm still having is no power to the sunroof.

                    on my car there was a splice off of the window power that went to where the power sunroof would be if i had one. so mine would have power to neither or both. sounds like yours must be arranged differently.

                      Well I found the problem. Seem it was getting power the whole time. Its just the ground was loose. Everything is up and running now...! Woohoo!
