    88 Radio in 87 Issues

Hello, I am strange as it may seem I am currently trying to put a stock radio back into my 87 325e. I bought a radio from a 88 325i assuming it would be plug and play.
This is the radio I got out of an 88 325i

Boy was I wrong. p/o had made a mess of the wires, after disconnecting the aftermarket wiring harness I started plugging everything back in. Got stuck when trying to connect speaker wires. According to the Diagram those four connectors are for the speakers. My question is what kind of socket connects the wires to the cross things? is this something that I have to order from BMW or am I screwed.

Here is a Pic (warning taken with potato)

First, that radio is from a '90 or '91. No deck had CD changer inputs before then.

Yes, I know you took it from an '88, but that is not the original deck for that car.

Second, yes, it is very easy to wire that deck in. the speaker plugs are the same, only there are 4 instead of 2, and it does not use the "fader" that your early car does.

The wires you need are on the back of the fader.

    GL!

OP, this is what the back of that radio looks like with speaker connections in it:

The yellow wire with the white connector and the blue wire with the black connector are the speaker plugs Luke is referring to - for the front left and front right channels respectively. The black rectangular plug below them (above them if the radio is right side up) contains both the rear left and rear right, though you can use those individual white and black connectors in place of it if you have two of each of them.

Thank you so much for the pic. The connectors are the things I need. Where do you get those connectors (the big black plug or the the round black or white ones)? I can"t seem to find them.

NP - for the record it's not my pic; my image search just happened to find it posted in the R3V gallery. Your best bet for the connectors is going to be a yard or someone with a parts car. I found the ones I got at a yard.

I really should track down a reliable source. They are just DIN standard plugs.
