Wiring in a stock radio, with no stock wiring

    Is is possible?

I just bought this headunit, with the intention to install it into my e30 m3. However, the previous owner hasnt left any of the original radio harness in the car.

Am I screwed? Or is it possible to get everything wired and working properly?

I attached a picture of the radio Im trying to put in, as well as the mess of crappy aftermarket wires behind the current headunit.

I highly doubt he removed all the wiring. It is likely just cut and/or tied back somewhere under the dash. You will likely need to splice new connectors onto the wiring. Either try and find someone with the stock plugs and have them cut them out for you or maybe check on realoem.com for part numbers for them and get them new.

Stock plugs are nla as far as it seems. I brought the radio to bmw and they werent any help either. Thankfully I found some used plugs.

Im praying that the stock wiring is still there...but I dont think it is.

If you back far enough you will probably find the OE wiring. Then it becomes a matter of obtaining that wiring from a salvage yard car and splicing it in.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
