Ok so I am completely stumped,
I bought an 87' ⁵²⁸ᵉ with an m20b27 and today it wouldn't start. Their is a power drain somewhere and the battery will die every so days but with a pop of the clutch, it will start right up. But today i tried to start it and nothing, battery was obviously dead but their was no click from the solenoid. So I tried popping the clutch and i got nothing, jumped it, nothing. Grabbed a spare fully charged battery, and nothing.
So i jumped the starter directly from a battery, clutch went out, and motor spun. So tested the lead going from ignition to solenoid and it was getting a solid 9v at turn of the key.
Is their a ground strap on the starter that could have fallen off or something? One thing i found peculiar is that their was a 4th lead on the starter that had nothing connected to it. Is that a neutral safety switch or something?
Any help would be greatly sppreciated
