    Grounding amps in an E30

Ok, I am reinstalling my stereo into my "new" car and had a question about grounding. In my last install, I simply ground my amp to the battery. I never had any problems, but thinking about it, I'm not sure if that's the best way to do that.

With this install, I'm adding another amp, and want to do everything RIGHT, so I ask, what is the best way/location to ground some amps in an E30?

I used a wire brush to remove the pain from a small area in the trunk under the carpet and just used a self-tapping metal screw to go into the sheet metal

same thing i did, just put a ring terminal on the end of the wire. if doing more than one amp, get a grounding block.

I have a 0awg grounding block for two amps. It runs back to the battery, I was having grounding loop problems and this helped a lot.

Shortest possible return path = good ground. Battery, chassis, whatever. Shortest path is best. I use the point on the body where BMW grounds at, just because I want less crap on the battery terminal.

Your best bet to minimize noise is to use a well shielded cable, run up the LEFT side (US Drivers) and run a 12 guage ground wire with it, then ground the deck to the same spot as the amps.
