    Cruise control retro fit help!!

I think this is the right place for this. I bought a complete kit of Levant at GPS and started installing it this evening and ran into a potential problem immediately.

The brake switch connection that plugs into the small distribution block under the dash...the connector plugs in exactly where the write up said it would be, but there are no male terminals? Do I have the wrong harness? I know some years don't work with others. I hope it's not the case, I'm driving across the country in less than two weeks and would LOVE to have cruise control.

It's the very top right outlet. The outlet just to left looks nearly identical except the little guide doesn't line up.

Any help is hugely appreciated as I'd really like to get this sorted in the next few days.

Simply put, you have to cut off the connector, then you have to find another acc. wire to pigtail the purple wire to (I used the one for the radio)and then you have to pigtail the green wire to the load side of the brake switch. (load side is the one that doesn't have any power until the brake pedal is depressed)
I've added cruise in both my 318is's

Good to know thanks! Are there any other tid bits I should aware of? Is the rest fairly plug and play? Happen to have any pictures of the process? There are some decent write ups but I learn best if I can see it. Like where does the speedo wire plug into the cluster? Forgive my ignorance, what is ACC? Wiring isn't my strength.

ACC is an accessory wire that only is hot when the ignition is on. The speedo wire plugs into the green block that should have come with the kit. The green block plugs into the back of the cluster. You also need the Actuator supporting plate from an e36, doesn't fit very well but it works. And the easiest way to hook the actuator to throttle body is to go to the dealer and order Bowden cable f cruise control, part # 65 71 8 357 087. It comes with the grommet for the throttle body. I think the hardest part is to get the actuator cable through the fire wall. When mounting the cruise control brain, mount the bracket first and then slide the unit in. Make sure the clutch switch is adjusted properly.

Thanks for chiming back in! I've been reading up as much as I can but there isn't much documentation for the retro fit. I ordered the kit from GPS who forgot the green block but is priority shipping it to me. I've got some random metal to make a bracket for the actuator and I've already got the cable through the fire way. I just need to figure out which wire on the brake sensor to splice and run the computer.

When I bought my M50 for the swap it came with the factory E36 cruise control actuator and cable. I've already swapped Bowden cables and while it's a tad longer than ideal, it has all the correct grommets and throttle body hook ups. Hope to have this wrapped up by Friday. Between working a full time job and getting ready to move across the country I've been busier than hell lately.
