i'm not 100% on the infinities for this box. just what i saw, i could be, and probably am wrong about that bit.

the port is 100% crucial to how it sounds. a port that is an inch shorter will make it sound different. obviously the guy at RF got the port size right with regards to your taste, so run with it.

in the end as long as your happy, that's all that matters. don't fix it if it ain't broke. :)

First of all, we need to stop referring to this box as ported and sealed. It's a bandpass. It went from a sealed back chamber to a ported back chamber. I'm not going to do the math to figure out what changed in the tuning frequencies. I will say this. I am a friend of Shon Besharah's and he is a great installer. One of the best fabricators in North America for sure. And the proof is in the performance.

Here's a good example of what Shon is capable of.

are you sure? never seen a bandpass box that has that configuration. every bandpass box i have ever seen/designed, the woofer is enclosed and barely visible if at all. they most typical is a 4th order and unless you have a Plexiglas panel, you can't see the woofer at all.

either way, port design is absolutely critical to how it sounds. there isn't a one box fits all solution when it comes to bandpass or ported boxes. they will work but not optimal unless its tuned for that woofer box combo.

Looking at the actual box now, it's a lossy "bandpass" there is no way anyone is completely sealing the cars cavity.
