I am looking for a very basic, clean looking head unit for our 1929 Mercedes Benz Replica Car. I don't want anything with lots of lights or a motorized face. Something that would fit the car better and not look like it came off a space ship. It also must have a dial for volume instead of up and down buttons. Any suggestions?

For sure, we have to get a CD player in the car, that chincy little tape deck isn't cutting it.
It's too bad Nakamichi isn't making car CD players anymore, something like that would be perfect. We should check on ebay and see if we can find one that's maybe just a couple years old or something. -
Get a Nak. Only one that'll fit well.Originally posted by EurospeedFor sure, we have to get a CD player in the car, that chincy little tape deck isn't cutting it.

I've looked into them, but they are a little out of our price range. Nak might be a good choice though, but price might be an issue.Originally posted by kencopperwheatMcIntoshComment

Well, McIntosh isn't an option. Their only HU has no built in amplifier and we don't want to run an external one.
The Nak CD300 is looking promising though. With Infinty 6.5 Components and this head unit, the price is right around $350 shipped.Comment

either blaupunkt or a nakamichi head unit would be a good choice. Both are low key and have models with dials for volume instead of the toggle button.Comment
