    Radio stays on

I had another head unit fail on me so to determine if it was the radio or vehicle itself I pulled the radio out of my E30 and tried it, but nothing.

I then reinstalled it in the E30 and now the radio stays on with the ignition off and key out. =( I'll probably come back to the car one day and find the battery dead like this.

    What could have happened?

    Thanks!

The radio is wired in wrong.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I wish it was that easy. All the wires are unmistakably in the right place.

I must have messed up something else..

Well, OK, I understand why you would think that, but you have 3 choices: bad switch, bad radio or improper wiring.

I say blame the human first.

Pull the deck and get a testlight so you know for sure.

Ok, so I got a test light and figured out how i got the two wires for permanent + and ignition wrong. I blev a funeral when i hocked up the permanent +. :/

Anyways this stereo in a crappy Clarion E910 from 1986, it's the original radio but it looks off in the rest of the dash.

So a BMW Bavarian C2 tape deck is going in. =)

So I got my Blaupunkt Bavarian C2 (or CII) today and installed it.

It sounds great and looks amazing in the dash, but every time the radio is turned off on the power/volume button or with the ignition for that matter, when it comes back on again it requests the 4 digit security code. Over and over again.

It still remembers the station it was last on, so I guess the memory is fine. =7

I've wired in the radio according to this diagram: http://www.tehnomagazin.com/Auto-rad...-Connector.htm

I have +12V Ignition hooked up on #9 and +12V constant hooked up on #5, Switching it around didn't make a difference.

What's left to plug in is 13.-Dash light dimmer wire, and also 16.- Power Antenna turn on.

            I'm a nuisance at electronics, sorry. =p

            Help? (=

              Found the problem!

On the Head unit side of the connector the circuitboard had gotten a bit fried.

I solderd it up and now it's working like it ought to. (=
