So I don't know why or how, but I was hoping one of you guys might... My speedometer works fine, and my odometer works fine, but my trip meter never has worked for the few weeks I've owned my 91 318i. My radiator fan died the other day so I went through and pulled every fuse in the box looking for a burnt one, and I pulled every relay and they all tested fine, put everything back and tested the Volvo relay from the electric fan swap the PO did and found that one to be bad, so I opened up and fixed that relay, put it back, and my trip meter started working along with my fan...
Strange things are afoot at the circle k.
I installed the Lukebox and and sub amp (It's seriously holds up to all the hype, and I just bought his crossovers this morning too, I can't wait to install them!) and I ran the speaker cables for an amp to run the rest of the speakers. that makes two separate amps.
These are all the things electrically that started going weird about the same time.
No Issues for a week until the radiator fan stopped spinning due to bad relay. at the same time the driver side window stopped working, and the AC blower wouldn't turn on until it got to 4. even then it wasn't cold.
The window still doesn't work. The ac blew cold on 4 but didn't work on 1 -3 even after fixing the radiator 2 speed relay... but then the next day it just started working randomly. Hoping the window will too, but I doubt it. I hear a click but it doesn't do anything. That plus the trip meter... all the fuses are good...
I would like to prevent something else bad happening, like my fan dying again, or a different window not working, or the trip meter stopping working again... I can't see how any of these things are related though so I don't even know what to test for or how to preempt them happening again... any ideas? or are these things coincident?
