Radio Stopped Working?

My radio stopped outputting sound today while driving - tried both FM and cassette input. The headunit appears to work fine but the antenna doesn't stay up - when you turn the radio on the antenna comes up a couple of inches, then goes back down. No noise at all from the speakers regardless of volume.

Sounds like it's powering up, doing a self test, failing that self test, and shutting back down. If the amp inside got fried then you're toast and should just buy a new head unit. See if you can find out how it burnt up, pull the HU and test all the outputs for shorts to each other, shorted voice coils, and shorts to ground.

Or maybe it went crazy and you need to pull the power for a minute to reset it.
