    Steering wheel arcing

About a month ago I noticed my headlights dimmed at a certain spot only when turning my steering wheel to the right, and that the ground wire from the windshield wiper got fried. I pulled everything apart and it seems the steering wheel is arcing off the hub. I took a video. Anyone have any ideas. It's an 84 325e. Everything works fine, and it stops arcing if I remove the windshield wiper ground. Sorry for the portrait mode.
Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

You have a short to ground somewhere. Start tracing wires to find it.

A zip tie broke which caused the wire form the alternator to fall into the steering column. It wore though, causing the bare wires to touch the steering column only when turning right. Boy, that was a weird one.
