not getting power to new Kenwood receiver ***solved

I am trying to reverse a wiring hack job from the previous owner.

I purchased a brand new kenwood receiver and am not getting power to it. I don't know if it is my wiring or something the previous owner may have done.

the red ignition wire from the radio is going to gray/violet oem accessory power
the yellow batter wire from the radio is going to red/green oem constant power

and of course the black ground from the radio is going to the brown/black oem wire

    * fuse is not blown in receiver or fuse box

any wiring wizards have any suggestions? thanks

My fuse box had a bunch of those old fuses with the wire across the top. None of them were blown but I replaced them with the newer design and it worked. So it must have been a bad fuse even though it wasn't blown.
