    Radio and speaker wiring help

So my e30 speakers suck and only the rear driver side plays music. The others just make weird noises or nothing else. So I'm wondering what I should do?! If I test each of the speaker wires where it attachattaches to the speaker what setting should I use on the multimeter and what should the range be? The speakers are fine as I swapped them to the working rear driver side and they work fine. The wiring on the back of my unit is confusing as it must just split off inside the frame and go to each speaker seperatly. I think there's only one right and left in the back of the radio.

Its the blaupunkt radio with 1 tweeter and 2 speakers per side.

Also on the faceplate of my radio there's a fader or slider thing but there's nothing there to slide it. Or to adjust the base and everything is there a special way to adjust it?

I don't have any pics atm as the cars stored but I just want to get this figured out in my head and be ready to be done when the time comes

    Thanks

If it's an old blowchunks er... blahpunkt or whatever they are called, it's likely dead.

Grab a known good speaker and attach a few feet of wire. Pull the deck and test each speaker at the deck

All the speakers work if I hook them up to the rear drivers side speaker. The wiring for the system seems confusing. But I saw the power and the anntenna cords but it seems like there are 4 other spots where cables are coming out but 6 speakers

Its actually the alpine deck sorry.

      The wiring looks like this

You have a premium sound system, with 8 speakers and a 4 channel amp in the trunk.

If only 1 of your speakers work, it's likely a bad amp.

Someone must of hacked up the wiring or somethibg because I only have the tweeters in the door, speakers in the front foot areas and speakers next to the rear seats. Mines a Vert so maybe that makes a difference? I'll have to check it out when I can and update this thread. Thanks

Ah, would have been handy to know that...good luck.

Oh, and yes, you do have an amp and yes, it is likely bad

Sorry for the delay lol where would the amp be located? Is the behind all of the trunk liner? Last time I looked I didn't think I saw one. Maybe that's why it's not working. Once I have the car out of storage in a month I'll try testing the speaker wire with a multi meter. Should I be getting a specific reading at where the speaker attached? Should it be set to volts?

Also just remember the thing on the radio that is lit up with the dots doesn't work on mine lol maybe I should just redo the wiring lol I want to keep OEM deck but not sure of the best route.

One last thing. How much would I be looking to pay if I got a sound system place to run new wires keeping the same speakers and deck? Not sure if you can quote that but if you can thanks!

You need to spend some time reading, my man. Blindly replacing parts is not the way to fly....
