    No. I was in there doing something else and took advantage of the opportunity. You can access it by removing the knee bolster and reaching under the dash though it is very awkward.

    Oh okay no, you cleared it up!

    I was just wondering if you could get a picture of where you tapped in, for the ambient light, behind the light panel. Im sure it will be clear enough to see when I open it up.

    And yeah i got the side ones going from before, but I was still hung up on the door center light too!

    Not sure I understand your question but if you are asking where it tapped in for power, the first picture shows where you turn on your headlights. There is a bulb there that illuminates the panel when your lights are turned on. I tapped the hot line of that bulb so that any time I turn on my headlights, the ambient lights come on also. If I misunderstood your question, sorry! Also, my car is a vert so my dome light was right next to the check panel. I used the wiring for that to connect the spotlights. Have not figured out how to wire the door activated center dome light yet.

    Damn, excellent job!

    If you could get a picture of the rear where you tapped in, that would be great, but I understand that being a lot of work!

    As for the center dome light, I was contemplating cutting the wire board and then soldering the positive and negative, and negative switched from the rear lights!

    Tried to take pic showing the ambient light working at night but I couldn't turn off my flash on my phone. I'll try it with my camera. but here are the pics of my install and where I ran the wire. It was pretty simple to run it down the A pillar to the headlight switch area. Again, I just taped into the hot wire of the bulb that illuminates the panel pictured.

    I got the ambient lights to work by running a wire from the light that illuminates the panel where your headlight switch is located. That way the ambient lights only come on at night or when you turn on your lights. You can use a nine volt battery to determine which wire is the hot for the ambient. On mine it was the red/purple wire. I will take some pics tonight.

    That sounds like a better plan to get the constant 12v and ground.

    So that might be a difference between the 325 and the 318.
    The seat belt light was in the overhead check panel. So since it is entirely removed its gone. No flashing lights.

    Haha, yeahhh That is one slight issue. I specifically put the dome light in that orientation because it minimized the light that hit your face. It is pretty much aimed at my chest so it isn't too much of an issue and the extra light is definitely worth it.

    If you were to flip it around its almost pointed horizontally and it really gets you in the eyes.

    I'm putting mine in a vert so the dome light, so to speak, is right next to the check panel light, so I will use the wiring from the original light set up. What did you do about your check panel dash light flashing and not being able to cancel it on the check panel? I think it would drive me crazy if I had to just deal with the constant flashing light in the event that there was an indication that should show on the check panel. One other question that I have is do the map lights point correctly since the angle on the e46 is different than the angle of the check panel?
