Spent today putting this stuff in.

Let just say the amps are from work, the parts for the [two] subwoofers are from work, and the MDF is from Home Depot and the Carpet is from Walmart. I spent probably $40 on all of this (including two titanium dome/rubber edge tweeters and woofers). It's nice working for a big audio company.

Anyway, One problem. I have a Pioneer DEH-P5500mp deck. Running both preamps and as the picture shows I'm using a line out on one of the amps to drive the other one.
The problem is that I get a pop in my speakers when I push the brake pedal. It's not insanely loud and I can ignore it till I figure it out, but it's not the wiring -- I can tell you that. I tried running the wiring out in the open down the middle of the car and it made no difference. Any ideas?

I had no idea a nice amp would make such a great difference in the sound quality. I'd recommend putting a nice four channel in, especially if you can land it for free.

Hey I need a new amp right now, and you seem like the perfect person to talk to. I don't need anything really good, but if want to hook me up with something just sitting around that would be awesome. As for the set up it definatly looks nice and looks like it would work good for 40 bucks. Nice.

What kind of amps are those? I can't read them in the picture.

Well, the amps... I'm not sure what Chinese company happens to make these haha. They are prototype amps that went through life testing (both put out more than 400w rms on the bench). One being 4 channel and the other being two channel, they are prototype for the system we put in the Sea Ray boats (10" sub paired with a 6 channel amp with microphone inputs for a tower speaker).

I have a hard time getting them for myself, so getting more probably isn't going to happen. I have one other 4 channel that the whole front output doesn't work, I have a Lightning Audio 1x150 I used to drive a 12" Xplode that I also have.

"Brake Pop" is easily solved with a 4700Mfd capacitor or two. You may want to put one on the feed of the switch and another on the control module/relay.

Did you run a ground wire from your amplifier ground to the back of the deck? I recommend running a 12GA wire from the single ground point (you did use a single ground point for both amps, didn't you?) of the amps...

GL! Nice looking install so far.

BTW, you would be able to gain as much as 10db in bass by building a box that sent all of the bass into the car, through the ski hole. It is a bitch to make a perfect seal, but it can be done. People were always amazed at how much bass (and how good it sounded) I got out of a single cheap-azz 12 and a 200 watt Sherwood amp...

yeah, I thought about doing so with my subs, but I use my pass through for snowboarding (weather permitting). I've got the gain set up enough on the sub and low enough on the speakers that it comes in nice and clear. And I'm not worried about tearing up the subs as I can always get me some more.
