1990 e30 vert premium stereo amp bypass

Hey so I want to keep my factory head unit if possible and I'm just wondering how I go about the by pass. I couldn't really understand the thread because my wires are different colours I think. But it's all factory. The rear speaker colours didn't match up with the thread and I'm assuming the fronts don't either.

Here are some pics of the setup. I hope you can help me figure this out...

    Head unit

    Amp wiring

    And rear speakers
    Drivers

    Passengers

And that's it. So I want to keep the head unit do I just connect the amp stuff?

Why do you want to bypass the amp? The only time you would want to bypass the stock amp is if you were installing an aftermarket stereo or aftermarket amp. The stock stereo is unamplified and won't work without an external amp.

I believe my amp has shit the bed or possibly my head unit but I'd like to try the bypass and it would show me what's wrong. Only one speaker gets music the others get weird high pitch noises and weird heart beat like noises.

But I guess since it's unamplified I'd need to just get another head unit or a new amp. I'll probably just get a head unit (don't like any that I've seen yet though haha) and run new wires to the speakers I suppose

No need to run new wires if you get another HU. The stock wiring is very good.

The speaker wires at the amp are the blue and yellow twisted pairs. At the HU, if you follow the harness back to the fader and a bit farther you will find these same twisted pairs. These are what you will connect your new HU to.

I didn't think I had a fader but once I get my car unstored I'll be taking the whole dash out which will make it easier to understand things and give the car a nice cleaning.

So these twisted wires in the dash should correspond with the colours coming from the amp? I always thought e30s had one ground going to the amp and then it changing to a positive and ground coming out of the amp.

Thanks for the help it just seems like it's a lot more complicated then systems now that have positive and negative coming straight out of the head unit for each speaker

Also is there any way to keep the tweeted?
