    Electrical Issue - Power Drain

    Hey guys, the title says it all -__-

    I hate hunting electrical issues down, so I want to cover my butt and make sure there aren't any known issues with this before I do so. I replaced the brushes and resistor in the alternator when I bought it last September, and also bought a brand new battery. Since then I had no issues with power whatsoever up until about three weeks ago. When I went to start it I noticed I had no power at all, so I jumped it and it started with no issues. The next day I went to start it again and it had died completely.

    Haven't had time to mess with it since then, only to verify that it died again. Does anyone have a good idea where to start? I thought maybe the crappy aftermarket head unit, but before I rip that out I wanted more info. Thanks in advance as always!

          1989 325is M20B25 fully stock

              Connect an amp meter inline with the battery cable and the battery. Then start pulling fuses one at a time until the measured draw drops. This will narrow down what circuit is creating the draw.

                  Awesome help and video reference here man, this is why I love you guys.

                  I'll give this a shot today, but I'm definitely gonna start with the radio, lighting etc.. Hopefully I won't be pulling fuses for an hour :?
