    Manual Safe Remote Start

Thought R3V might want to see this too.

It's a Scytek Galaxy G5M remote start system, specifically for manual transmissions.

Here is the unit, I can't seem to find them on Ebay, and Sonic doesn't seem to offer the Manual specific one

Personally, I have zero patience for 2 way, I prefer simple one way, they have much faster response times, and 100X the battery life.

Here is the thing, only this new series supports manual safe reliably. The previous series (Galaxy5000RS) could be modded and hacked to do it, but this one is much nicer and comes pre-hacked.

The old one also required a programming dongle and some crappy windows software to make it work, and lost it's programming whenever it felt like it. This new one actually works like it should, it's pretty sexy.

Oh, if you can find them, the one way should be about $75, the 2 way about $120, I would guess.

        Manual Safe Remote Start

wouldn't any unit work? don't our cars not require the clutch to be depressed to start unlike e36 and newer? or is the saftey mechanism to stop cranking if it finds that the car is parked in gear?

It basically makes you leave the car out of gear so you can't accidentally start it with the car in gear and take out a house. It doesn't check if the car is in gear or not, but the procedure for shutting the car off makes you leave the car with it still running, which means it must not be in gear.
