    Loose Wires In Footwell?

Hi, I'm new to R3v and a first time e30 owner. I bought the car a week ago and I've been ripping it up left and right to fix any problems I find. Long story short, the left side speakers don't work. The PO installed an aftermarket radio, so I thought I'd check out what he did. There are a couple of mystery wires, and I don't know where they go? I have an 89 325i without the premium sound and without a fader.

These are the mystery stereo wires. What are the red and red/grey wires? The brown and grey? And the white wire?

Then there are some wires behind the driver's side kick panel that were loose.

    A connector with a green/grey and brown/grey?

a connector with a blue/brown wire? and another one with a single green/grey wire?

I know this is a lot to ask but hopefully someone is kind and/or patient enough to help!

Wow....another stupid installer thought black stripes mean negative in a BMW...

First, I would recommend you download the ETM. I'm too stupid to post a link, but chase it down.

Second, get a test light if you don't already have one.

Third, unwrap the harness. The 89 did have a fader, your car has had it yanked, which is fine, but clearly whoever hacked on it had no clue.

Once you get more of the harness free, you will find 4 pairs of twisted wires, that is all you need
