maybe it's solid gold wire. Sounds like people being stupid to me. Don't spend money on expensive wiring. Get properly shielded wrapped wiring and don't run it next to power wires if you want good clean audio.

not sure man i was just reading through old ben articles and i read this one again and it said

        Aerospace-grade (MIL-spec) wire and heat-shrink / Aerospace-grade (MIL-spec) ring terminals and Male / Female push-on electrial connectors
What's the benefits of using aerospace quality stuff when wiring things on your car? They conduct better, they're more reliable, and they don't give off toxic fumes when they burn. These are low-cost things, so the difference in price compared to auto parts store stuff will fit into anybody's budget.

        if you wanna read it.

I've got a friend in the Navy thats allways telling me to re-wire my stereo system with military grade wire. he was telling me its better because of the better conductivity of the aluminum, silver, or copper strands due to less impurities in the metal when the wire is made. also, the insulating wrap is made of a better quality usually of mesh fiberglass instead of plastic, which is much more resistve to heat. the materials used in the assembly of the wire is designed to be much more corrosion resistant. the downside to all of this is obviously the price, unless you know of someone thats in the military that can get a hold of it, its not worth the price.
