Hello R3vers,
I've had awesome luck restoring my 87' 325 so far.
Buy I have a few burned out bulbs in my CM5905 head unit. I have one in the car that works, and one in my workshop I want to take apart and try to fix the lighting.
Might anyone have any advice how I can figure out what the bulbs are inside the unit? I know most folks just replace the head unit, but the car was my father's and I'm trying to keep it factory orig.
There are lights behind the buttons - green glow, and red backglights behind the faceplate & lcd. I'd say about 1/2 are burned out in the middle of the unit so at night I can't see what anything is.
Not a cost thing, but as an labor of love - anyone have taken the CM9505 or similar apart, or have ideas about diagnosing the bulbs? I have medium electronics experience, good solder station and so forth.
Thank you for any ideas. I fixed my 6 button OBC lately, lcd and bulbs so feeling up to it. Plus I have a spare unit in case I break it!
