    Radio static interference

So, I completed an entire lukebox install, added front tweeters, new pioneer deck etc
The system sounds incredible with a cd or on Bluetooth from my iPhone. Really rocks to insanely high volumes.
But listening to fm or am is disappointing because of static interference from all the phone/power lines in my area. I don't get any static as far as I can tell from my car, no whine, no static from applying the brakes etc. just from the power lines.
So anybody got a solution? I read somewhere about using a Z3 antenna, but not sure why.
Any help is appreciated so I can listen to baseball again
