Ground up E30 install, need advice

    Hi guys!

I recently purchased a 1991 316i from a 90 year old lady. There is no form of stereo in it. No antenna hole (:D), no harnesses, no nothing. Just a stereo blanking plate.

So I want to do this right. Everything must be stock looking, and I do not want to install an external antenna.

I have some E34 premium speakers, and I read Luke's thread on them being the way to go for a cheap killer system.

For now, I'm just going to do the front. I have some OEM tweeter door pods lying around, but I do not want to modify the rear shelf. I am searching for some premium audio speaker cases for the rear shelf.

Also, I do not have the rear armrest. I have an Pioneer MVH-X560BT head unit, but I am open to other suggestions. I want all the plug-ins to be in the rear of the HU.

Sell the stock radio surround or save it. I would not cut that one up. You may still be able to buy pre made 6x9 speaker boxes, though that would look a bit odd. You can source a stock rear shelf with holes already cut in them. I think the metal under the board already has the holes cut out.
