This question is for my 2014 Fiesta ST. I figured I would be hitting a larger 12 volt audio crowd here than the FiST specific forums.
I would like better sound in the car but am not unimpressed by the factory head units functions and use. I've already removed the rear seats from the vehicle and have plans to extend the cargo area to just behind the driver and passengers seats while building a shallow enclosure where the rear seats used to be. The end design for that is not finalized so the woofer could be firing towards the roof or towards the cabin all dependent on room available and fit once I get in there measuring and calculating.
The only parts I have for this project so far are 2 amps; a 4-channel and 2-channel.
I'm leaning towards a 3-channel setup as I'm unsure of any benefit to having a full range rear channel fill.
I am considering using the JL Clean Sweep to convert and clean the high out's from the factory amp into a usable signal for the amps with some sort of EQ in between. The price difference between the EQ's I've been reading up on is pretty vast so I'm sure some will have tech that other will not. The clean sweep plus a mid range priced EQ gets you in the same price range as full digital processors with output leveling and EQ abilities so why not just use one of those?
Does anyone have a recommendation on a decently featured EQ on the cheap that would have real time delay instead of just delaying the left chan?
Are there any other recommended configs I am not thinking of for cleaning the factory head unit and tweaking sound?
Can someone explain to me the differences in using the 4-channel amp in bridged for the front or keep it 4-channel discreet, a channel separately for tweets and mids?
One thing to keep in mind is the JL Clean Sweep is 2/3/4 channel only.
Thanks in advanced R3vers! and if there's anything I left out just let me know.
