    electrical gremlins?

So today after work I get in my car to notice that my wipers won't turn off. They start up without me turning them on, sometimes I can get them to stop, sometimes I look like an idiot driving down the road with wipers going. Help!!

I would remove the wiper stalk and check the connectors to make sure that they are not shorting. A simple resistance test with the stalk removed should tell you what's happening there.

i've also had mine stay on and traced it to a broken wire at the windshield washer pump motor, but if you can sometimes make them stop buy moving control stalk i would start as mentioned above

I didn't want to drive to work with them k thismorning so I completely took my wipers off. I can see the little bolts move when I turn my wipers on and they seem to be functioning normally now. Maybe they were off track? Still not sure if they are fixed. Il post when I find out for sure

I don't see any way that them being off track would make them run like that. Something has to give the relay the "signal" to turn on and that's the wiper stalk. I'd start there and run down the circuit. It could also be a failing relay (not as likely, but possible).

Update, I thought they might be okay but just as I was going to put my wipers back on they started acting up again..it seems that they only do this when it is raining outside?? Maybe I have an exp wire that is getting exposed to rain water??
