    Mystery wire under passenger seat

    Hi all,

I have a 1989 325iX sedan. I found a wire under the passenger seat that isn't connected to anything, pictures attached. Does anyone know what that wire connects to? The wire seems to go into the seat itself near the seatbelt release button.

This car does have heated seats, and they are already wired and working through a separate (larger) connector. I'm not sure what this smaller connector is for.

    Anyone know?

    Thank you,
    Justin

Looks like the plug for the seat belt sensor. I know on my 89 I have one under the driver side, but I don't have one for the passenger side.

Maybe a PO needed to replaced it and used a driver side seat belt? Maybe the ix had 2 plugs?

You could check out the wiring diagram for your model/year and see if there is something for it.
