    Factory KE-83ZBM e30 radio/cassette issue

    I have a stock KE-83ZBM deck.
(And would love to continue to use a stock deck)

The radio works. Until I put a tape in there. Tape got stuck. And would not eject/play or switch back to radio.

I removed the deck, and managed to get the tape out. I reconnected the deck (no tape inside) and it will NOT switch back to radio. The deck still thinks the tape is in.

Any tricks or tips into getting the radio to switch back on?

    Thanks!

I'm thinking there's a micro switch inside the cassette unit that is stuck or jammed causing it to think there's a tape loaded. If I remember when i took mine apart, the OEM Pioneer radios actually have the cassette unit separate and it can be unplugged and removed from the unit. maybe take it out and start peeking around to see if something is not where it should be?

There's also a vertical bar that the tape moves forward to initiate loading. It may still be in the inserted position.
