    Drivers side speaker very quite

My drivers speaker (stock, premium, front), seems to work, but very quitely in relation to the other speakers.

What are some basic tests I can run to confirm if its the speaker or wiring?

The red/color speaker wire is giving me 5.5v, should the power be 12v+, or is 5.5v normal?

Have you tried swapping the speaker with one of the known working one's?

Start here, but more than likely it's a bad amp.

Here is what I am thinking: they are fine, that's how all E30s are. You can't hear the fronts, especially whichever is your "near side", but lets find out for sure.

Try this: put on some interstation hiss, and listen. Get your ear close to the speaker, really hunker down and get your ear right on each of the 4 midranges...it's the same on all 4 corners, I suspect.

If it isn't, grab your handy DMM and head to the trunk, set it to AC voltage, use that same interstation hiss and test the 4 pairs of speaker wires at the amp (IMO, way easier than pulling all 4 speakers) while it's playing.

What you are dealing with is most likely just crappy E30 acoustics, and the exact reason I tell people to use an aftermarket amp. It's as much for the adjustability as it is the sound quality or power.
